\n〈巴赫d小調第二號無伴奏小提琴組曲〉(BWV1004)被許多小提琴家視為最偉大的作品之一,編舞家尤法.皮克被其中的情感力量撼動,進而啟發創作。透過挖掘音樂核心,以及八名舞者的肢體展現,重新編譯舞蹈與絃樂之間的對話,進而把觀眾和舞者細膩地連結在一起,創造出獨一無二的交響語彙。
\n尤法.皮克的靈感來自「走向他者的需求」,從樂曲的情感張力汲取動能,進而在空間中引導並試圖創造出連結。他重塑了個人在群體中證明存在的方式——單獨自處、成群相處也和他者共處。

\n尤法.皮克
自2011年8 月起擔任法國國立希里爾拉帕普編舞中心總監,尤法.皮克已有多年的編舞家、舞者及老師的經驗。他受訓於以色列特拉維夫的Bat-Dor舞蹈學校,於1991年加入以色列巴希瓦現代舞團。1995年離開舞團後,以客席藝術家受邀至世界各地創作及演出。1999年,他加入法國里昂歌劇院芭蕾舞團,並於2002年成立其舞團The Guests。自此之後,他所創作的舞作會企圖展現其複雜、多層次的動作及詞彙,伴隨委託作曲家為其創作的音樂;在其作品中,欲強調和挑戰個人和群體之間的關係。

\nToday, he would like to confront a major work in the history of music, BACH's Partita in d minor, BWV 1004. When he listened to this universal, timeless piece, he was touched and inspired by its emotional force. As a contemporary artist and choreographer, he would like to offer his dancers and the audience an encounter with this music, an opportunity to connect to something bigger, something spiritual.

Yuval Pick
\n\nAppointed director of the Centre Chorégraphique de Rillieux-la-Pape in August 2011, Yuval Pick has had a long career as a choreographer, a dancer and a teacher. He first trained at the Bat-Dor Dance School in Tel Aviv, then joined the Batsheva Dance Company in 1991. Four years later he left to begin working as an international guest artist with, among others, Tero Saarinen, Carolyn Carlson and Russel Maliphant. In 1999 he joined the Opera Ballet of Lyon, and founded his own company, The Guests, in 2002. Since then he has created a strong repertory of works marked by their elaborated, layered movement vocabulary, accompanied by commissioned scores by ranking composers. In his work, the relationships between individuals and group(s) are often highlighted and challenged.

重現文藝復興時期精神的法國憶古樂團,與秉持著「最古老即最現代」理念的心心南管樂坊首次跨國合作,以南管「譜」曲中為人所知的《五湖遊》為標題,以旅行的概念出發,透過各種自然界的音樂描摹與表達,從古樂中尋找東西方獨特的聲響,進行一場由西至東的音樂之旅。 1999年被法國文化部授予「藝術與文學榮譽勳章」的法國憶古樂團藝術總監丹尼.韓森.塔特,與被喻為南管創新傳承第一人的心心南管藝術總監王心心,雙方的第一次合作,不以再現復古或遵循傳統為目的,而是試圖從音樂寫意上尋找跨國共通的語言,透過曲式的編排,精鍊出兩種古樂寧靜與清邈的共融性和互補性,交織一場融合東西方印象音樂的音響。

心心南管樂坊藝術總監|王心心
\n當代最重要的南管音樂家之一,被喻為兩岸南管創新傳承第一人。
王心心成長於福建泉州的南管世家,4歲開始學習南管;精習 指、譜大曲及各項樂器,尤以歌唱著名,是南管界少見「坐遍五張金交椅」的音樂全才。90年代移民台灣後深受,台灣現代藝術家包括林懷民、董陽孜、羅曼菲、吳素君、等人之薰陶與影響,多次受邀歐美重要藝術節演出,被譽為當代南管( 南音) 傳承與創新第一人。
\n2003年創辦心心南管樂坊,致力於南管與當代藝術跨領域的創新與合作,在南管吟唱與中國古典詩詞文學的結合創作上獨樹一幟,經典作品如《葬花吟》、《琵琶行》及李清照的《聲聲慢》等,聲情並茂,形象動人,2015年首度嘗試以現代詩入曲,為詩人余光中創作全劇場作品《南管詩意》。此外,亦創作禪音系列作品包括《以音聲求─普庵咒》、《此岸‧彼岸─心經》、《觀世音菩薩普門品》。
知名編舞家林懷民曾如此形容:「她尚未出場,我們靜默等候;她一開口,我們便不知道自己在哪裡了。」

法國憶古樂團藝術總監|丹尼.韓森.塔特
\n\n丹尼.韓森.塔特(Denis Raisin Dadre)於1989 年在羅亞爾河谷省(Loire Valley)創立憶古樂團,旨在重現文藝復興時期的精神,再奏響達文西、米高安哲盧、拉斐爾等傑出藝術家聽過的樂章。於音樂之外,赫森.塔特對音樂、歷史、文學也十分有興趣,因此影響他設計出以歷史背景為基礎的演出曲目,甚至為法國音樂廣播電台製作廣播節目。
\n二十五年來活躍於音樂界,投入許多值得紀念的音樂製作,包含唱片錄製及舉辦音樂會,長期耕耘於文藝復興音樂的赫森.塔特,對此熱情不減。他翻遍歐洲圖書館,新編古樂譜手稿、嘗試樂器的可能性,大膽對音樂界某些預想的論點甚至音樂語彙提出疑問,這樣的態度不僅體現在音樂方面,他亦經常與戲劇導演及編舞家合作,創造獨特的表演形式。赫森.塔特目前為法國圖爾音樂學院的專任教師。於古樂領域努力不懈的他,1999年獲得法國文化部頒發藝術與文學騎士勳章,獲得肯定。

WANG Xin-xin, Music Director of Xinxin Nanguan Ensemble
\n\nOne of the most significant contemporary Nanguan musicians, WANG Xin-xin has been hailed as the leading figure in the innovation of the heritage of Nanguan music across the Strait.
\n\nBorn in a family of Nanguan musicians in Quanzhou City of Fujian Province, WANG began learning Nanguan music at the age of four. Skilled in many musical instruments and most famous for her exceptional voice and singing skills, she is a rare all-round talent who “sits on all of the five golden chairs”. Since moving to Taiwan in the 1990s, she has been inspired by many contemporary artists in Taiwan, such as LIN Hwai-min, TONG Yang-tze, LO Man-fei, and WU Su-chun, and has been invited to perform at many important art festivals in Europe and America. She has been hailed as the leading figure in the innovation of the heritage of Nanguan music across the Strait. Since founding the Xinxin Nanguan Ensemble of Taiwan in 2003, she has been dedicated to the innovation and collaboration of Nanguan music and other artistic forms and has established a unique style of integrating Nanguan singing and classic Chinese poetry. Her classic works are excellent and impressive in both sound and expression, such as Elegy on a Funeral for Flowers, Song of the Pipa Lute, and Forlorn-a Rhyming Song for Lovers, an adaptation of poetry by LI Qing-zhao, a female poet in the Song Dynasty. In 2015, she tried for the first time to integrate modern poetry into Nanguan music in producing The Poetry of Nanguan based on YU Kwangchung’s free verses. Her “Zen Series” includes such works as Pu’an-zou in Nanguan, Temporality and Nirvana-The Heart Sutra and The Universal Gate Chapter on Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
\n\nRenowned choreographer LIN Hwai-min has once said, “we waited in silence before she showed up; when she began to sing, we simply forgot where we were”.

\nDenis Raisin Dadre, Artistic Director of Doulce Memoire
After his musical studies – recorder, oboe and musicology – Denis Raisin Dadre formed the ensemble Doulce Mémoire in 1989. His keen interest in history, literature, and the arts in general, as well as music, leads him to devise programmes that are set in a historical context.
\n\nAfter twenty-five years of intense activity, with memorable achievements both in concert and on CD, his love for the Renaissance has never weakened. As Denis Raisin Dadre studies the material found in European libraries, transposes manuscript scores or tries out various instrumental possibilities, he questions preconceived ideas and sometimes even the vocabulary of music – and not only that of the Renaissance, for he often works with stage directors and choreographers on the creation of original types of performance.
\n\nHe is regularly invited to take part in academies organised for the training of young musicians. Denis Raisin Dadre has taught, for example, at those of Gijon (Spain), Chiquitos (Bolivia), Prague (Czech Republic) and Havana (Cuba). He also teaches in the Department of Early Music at the Conservatoire in Tours, and since 2003 he has been director of the International Academy Le Droict Chemin de Musique for talented young singers.
\n\nDenis Raisin Dadre was made a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in 1999.

\n\n出身臺灣,為享譽國際樂壇的旅歐名指揮家。自鋼琴啟蒙,後隨陳秋盛研習指揮,繼而赴美印第安那大學及維也納國立音樂院深造。在贏得法國貝桑頌、義大利佩卓地和荷蘭孔德拉辛三大國際指揮大賽首獎後,展開了他在歐洲的指揮生涯。
\n\n旅居德國期間先後擔任柏林喜歌劇院首席駐團指揮(1995-1998)、德國柯布倫茲市立歌劇院音樂總監(1998-2001)、德國國家萊茵愛樂交響樂團音樂總監(1998-2004)、德國漢諾威國家歌劇院音樂總監(2001-2006),並於2004年5月獲文化部長頒贈象徵該省文化最高榮譽的Peter Cornelius獎章。在歌劇的領域中,曾於英國國家歌劇院、雪梨歌劇院等客席登臺指揮。歌劇外,呂紹嘉在交響樂指揮的表現也同樣耀眼。近年來合作的交響樂團有:柏林、巴伐利亞廣播、荷蘭皇家音樂大會堂管絃樂團等。在亞洲,與香港管弦樂團、NHK、首爾愛樂,及北京、上海等地的代表性樂團合作演出。自2010 年8 月起接任NSO 國家交響樂團音樂總監。並於2014-2017兼任南丹麥愛樂交響樂團的首席指揮。

出生於雅典音樂世家,是世界公認不可多得的優秀藝術家,以精湛技巧、超凡的音樂實力與演奏真摯而聞名。21 歲時已贏得三項大獎:西貝流士(1985年)、帕格尼尼和瑙姆堡大賽(同於1988 年)。使他得以錄製西貝流士小提琴協奏曲的原始錄音版本,也贏得1991 年《留聲機》年度最佳協奏曲大獎。近年建立了自己身為指揮家的堅實經歷,與倫敦交響樂團、波士頓交響樂團、維也納交響樂團、布達佩斯節慶管絃樂團等合作。2018/19 樂季,為巴伐利亞廣播交響樂團的駐團音樂家,以獨奏家及指揮的雙重之姿活躍於貝多芬的小提琴協奏曲及第七號交響曲的詮釋。

於1986年為建立一個指標級交響樂團而投下的希望,2005年起成為駐國家音樂廳團隊,2014年4月起改隸國家表演藝術中心,目前已成為頂尖的亞洲樂團。樂團歷任音樂總監/藝術顧問包括許常惠、張大勝、林望傑、簡文彬以及赫比希,自2010年8月起,由呂紹嘉接任音樂總監。近30年來與NSO合作過的知名指揮家有馬捷爾、巴夏、潘德瑞茨基、史瓦茲、羅斯楚波維奇、柯米希奧納、史拉特金、馬利納爵士等。除了精緻音樂會,NSO也製作大型歌劇,更以各種推廣講座音樂會、節慶或戶外音樂會,使NSO的節目成為愛樂大眾樂於參與的活動,形成華人地區古典音樂的新風貌。

Shao-Chia LÜ
\n\nTaiwan-born conductor Shao-Chia Lü studied music in Taipei, later at the Indiana University in Bloomington, USA, and also at Vienna's College of Music. His training resulted in important first prizes at three renowned international conductor competitions: Besancon (France), Pedrotti (Italy) and Kondrashin (the Netherlands).
\n\nShao-Chia Lü accepted positions as General Music Director of the Koblenz Theatre (1998-2001),the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie Koblenz (1998-2004), and the Staatsoper Hannover (2001- 2006). He has also been Chief Conductor of the South Denmark Philharmonic from 2014 to 2017.
\n\nShao-Chia Lü appears regularly as guest conductor at several world-renowned opera houses, including the Opera Australia in Sydney, Den Norske Opera in Oslo and more. Alongside his opera activities, Lü is equally at home on concert podiums. Lü has worked repeatedly with many leading European orchestras, such as the Oslo Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and more. In Asia, Lü has worked with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, NHK, Seoul Philharmonic and more.
\n\nShao-Chia Lü has been Music Director of the Taiwan Philharmonic (the National Symphony Orchestra) since August 2010.

\nLeonidas KAVAKOS, Violin
Born into a musical family in Athens, Leonidas Kavakos is recognized around the world as an artist of rare quality, known for his virtuosity, superb musicianship and the integrity of his playing. By the age of 21, Kavakos had already won three major competitions: Sibelius (1985), Paganini, and Naumburg (both in 1988). These successes led to his recording of the original version of the Sibelius Violin Concerto, the first-ever of this work. This won him the Gramophone Concerto of the Year Award in 1991. In recent years Kavakos has also built a strong profile as a conductor, working with the London Symphony, Boston Symphony, Vienna Symphony, and Budapest Festival Orchestra, among many others. In the 2018/19 season, as Artist in Residence with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kavakos will appear as both soloist and conductor when he performs Beethoven Violin Concerto and Symphony No.7, and will also perform Shostakovich Violin Concerto with Mariss Jansons and Berg Violin Concerto with Daniel Harding.

National Symphony Orchestra
\n\nFounded in 1986, the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), also known as Taiwan Philharmonic, became the resident orchestra of the National Concert Hall, and an artistic affiliate of the National Performing Arts Center in April 2014. The orchestra has benefited from the leadership of many music directors and principal conductors, including Gerard Akoka, Urs Schneider, Tsang-Houei Hsu, Da-Shen Chang, Jahja Ling, Wen-Pin Chien and Güther Herbig. Since August 2010, Maestro Shao-Chia Lü has been Music Director of NSO and will lead the NSO continually to further enrich its performances and carry out its mission as the flagship of classical ensemble in Taiwan. The NSO works regularly with internationally acclaimed musicians, including Lorin Maazel, K. Penderecki, Rudolf Barshai, Kek-Tjiang Lim, G. Schwarz, Uri Mayer, Joseph Silverstein, Leonard Slatkin, Christopher Hogwood, Christopher Poppen and many others. Tour performances were also regularly offered throughout Taiwan and in overseas, in places such as Vienna, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Sapporo, Tokyo, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Costa Mesa, and Vancouver.

2020衛武營獨家全臺首演《與神同行》第一部〈陰曹地府篇〉。保留漫畫家周浩旻重新詮釋韓國神話與民俗故事的網路漫畫原著精神,與全臺賣座同名電影最大的不同,是本劇還原陰間律師陳基漢的角色。故事描述吃了一輩子虧的過勞上班族金自鴻英年早逝,與地獄頂級學府畢業的陰間新手律師陳基漢,兩人在為期49天艱險的陰間審判中,經歷各種人生記憶回溯,通過地獄七大審判,陳律師最終幫助金自鴻脫離地獄苦海。

\n\nAlong with the Gods: The Afterworld will have its exclusive premiere at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) in 2020. In stark contrast to the blockbuster movie with the same title, this version preserves the original spirit of the webtoon which is based on a reinterpretation of Korean myths and folk tales by cartoonist JOO Ho-min.

\nThe musical is a joint creation by writer JEONG Young, composer PARK Sung-il and director KIM Dong-yeon, etc. The seven imaginary scenes from hell will be presented in a VR fashion on a 17-meter round stage with an 80m² floor featuring LED lighting effects and the music with dance enriches the theater experience. The musical will be performed by actors with excellent vocal skills. Taiwanese audiences will be treated to a deeply moving "Asian Broadway" masterpiece.

Synopsis
\n\nJa-hong Kim, an average working man who is not even forty, has just died. And like everyone else who is deceased, he must pass through the seven circles of hell within forty-nine days. The sins he committed in his life will be judged by the different gods presiding as a judge in each circle of hell who can send him to eternal damnation. At the first gate of hell, Ja-hong meets his lawyer, Gi-han Jin who graduated top of his class from Ksitigarbha School of Law. Gi-han is a lawyer who dreams of bringing justice to dead souls who come to the netherworld, and Ja-hong is his first client.
\nGang-rim, the strongest warrior of the netherworld, is the leader of the guardian team along with Hae-won-maek and Deok-chun, and they are responsible for bringing dead souls to the netherworld. One day a dead spirit with a grudge to settle jumps off the train headed to hell, and the three guardians go chasing after him. The dead spirit on the run is a young soldier who was murdered, and after learning about his murder, the three guardians decide to help him even if it means breaking the law of the netherworld.

《與神同行》第二部〈陽間篇〉,改編自漫畫家周浩旻的同名第二部作品。忠於原著精神,以韓國民間神話「家神」為主題,守護家的家神。故事背景發生住在貧民窟老房子裡相依為命的爺孫倆,爺爺壽命被生死簿記載陽壽已盡,將由陰間使者帶走爺爺,家神因為不希望年幼的孫兒因此孤苦無依,不斷與陰間使者對抗,不讓他們帶走爺爺;而因為都更的龐大利益,爺孫倆遭受黑道不斷脅迫搬遷;故事中另一線講述一位貧苦青年,為了賺錢,一開始與惡勢力攜手迫害爺孫倆,最後良心發現想透過媒體公開都更的惡勢力,卻因媒體被富豪壟斷束手無策……。劇情轉折跌宕,南韓社會的闇黑面貌,透過唱作俱佳的演員們精彩呈現,將深深打動臺灣觀眾的內心。

劇情介紹
\n\n八歲的東賢與祖父同住,而當都市再生計畫威脅到他們的住處時,看著兩人即將被驅趕離家,家神成造神與廚房灶神便以人形現身,捨身守護這間屋子。好巧不巧,爺爺的名字竟出現在地獄生死簿上,陰間護衛解怨脈與李德春偏偏在此時要帶走東賢的祖父,所幸灶神說服他們再多寬限三個月。
\n另外,屢屢就業失敗的朴鎮浩,輾轉入住考試院。有天,透過前輩的斡旋下,他在黑幫「龍之力」找到一份工作,被交付「不惜一切毀滅韓蔚洞」的任務。雖然受到良心譴責,但最後他仍決定屈服於現實,違背良心執行任務。在拆遷當天,工人無預警地將挖土機開進東賢空空如也的屋子,而兩位神祇與陰間護衛合力抵禦了攻擊。在過程中,成造神因為居住的罐子遭到破壞而犧牲。此後,韓蔚洞一片混亂,被迫離開的人與留守家園的人之間產生巨大衝突,對立愈走愈烈。最終,命運之日即將到來,人們肅穆以待,迎來一場不可避免的抗爭,幫派有要達成的任務,居民有守護家園悲壯的心,迫使韓蔚洞陷入緊張的氛圍之中...

\n\nAlong with the Gods: This World was adapted from JOO Ho-min's second work of the same title. The musical stays faithful to the spirit of the original work which is centered around the household deity who act as guardians as depicted in Korean folk myths. The two main characters are a grandfather and his young grandson who live in an old house in a slum and only have each other to rely on. The earthly life of the old man is about to end as recorded in the book of life and death. Two messengers from the underworld will guide him to his afterlife. The household deity constantly clashes with the underworld messengers to prevent them from taking away the grandfather…The twisted plot and dark sides of South Korean society are presented by actors with great vocal skills in a brilliant manner. This musical will truly touch the hearts of Taiwanese audiences.

Synopsis
\n\nEight-year-old Dong-hyun lives alone with his grandfather. When the urban redevelopment scheme in their neighbourhood puts them in danger of losing their home, Seongju, the House Guardian God, and Jowang, the Kitchen Goddess, decide to appear in human form and look after the house at their peril. To make matters worse, guardians of the underworld Haewonmak and Deok-chun arrive to escort Dong-hyun’s grandfather to the afterlife. Jowang manages to persuade the two guardians to give them three months.
\nUnemployed Park Seong-ho moves from pillar to post without a proper home. One day, with the help of his friend, he lands a job at Dragon Power, where he is given the task of demolishing Hanwool-dong by all means necessary. Though he feels conflicted at first, he succumbs to reality and acts against his conscience in the end.
On the demolition day, workers drive excavators into Dong-hyun’s empty house all of a sudden. The two household gods join efforts with the guardians of the underworld to fend off the attack. In the process, the Seongju Jar gets destroyed, and Seongju is thus sacrificed unfortunately. Chaos ensues in Hanwool-dong torn between those who
\nare forced to leave and those who remain to protect their homes. At last, the fateful day comes upon them, and amidst their resolute determination, tension mounts higher than ever in Hanwool-dong.

王榆鈞
\n高雄人,畢業於臺灣藝術大學戲劇系。現為音樂創作者,歌者。
\n持續走在邊界,喜歡觀察存在於生活周遭的事物,讓日常的片刻轉化成音樂裡各種表情。熱愛劇場與眾人一起呈現難以言喻的情感,與不同領域的對話中發現聲音的種種可能,也享受獨自一人創作的寂靜,在無盡時間裡細究每個音符。期待未來能繼續在世界不同角落創作,紀錄當下空氣裡的振動,以及生活的氣息;在詩與歌的脈絡裡找到一種文化對話的方式。已出版的音樂作品有《凹》EP、《沙灘上的腳印》概念專輯、王榆鈞與時間樂隊《頹圮花園》、《原始的嚮往》專輯等。

\n\nA woman shared the memories of the riverside, about the childhood, someone she loved, unknown future, also those Impressive unforgettable moments. Music as a poetry, full of sound and imagination. WANG Yu-jun graduated from the Applied Drama and Theater Department at National Taiwan University of Arts. Her published work included: the concept EP Concave, concept album The tracks on the Beach, and Wang Yu-jun & TIMEr Band’s Abandoned Garden, The Initial Longing. Keen on interdisciplinary exploration, she has developed a stereoscopic approach to shaping the sound of music. Her practice draws upon observations of everyday life and ordinary people, transmuting mundane and fleeting impressions into a sonic documentation of complex emotional shades.

\n\nThe two performers, Yeu-Kwn Wang and Yin-Ying Lee, they are male and female; husband and wife; choreographer and dancer. Should the two individuals’ roles be defined? Who are Yeu-Kwn Wang and Yin-Ying Lee? What do they represent? Underneath these social-defined relationships, is there any other possibility between them?

The leftover dishes meals (think half piece of Pizza) remind us of our own situation, while our topics are more often about the minimum wages and the cost of living…We find it’s even more difficult to define our statement of being. We are in the most productive world system that Karl Marx claims to be based on exploitation. Aren’t we?

\n\nA family living in the house build between the borders, all the members have to choose which nationality they’re going to be during the next seven days because of their divorce.
\n\nAnd a disabled youtuber’s visiting, she reveals the inside walls of everyone’s minds in the family, including the on-site customs.
\n\nAt the same time, these stories will present in the art museum, and the audience will observe them like walking through different exhibition spaces. Based on The Legend of the White Snake, “Boundary +” explores the travels of the protagonists across the barrier/border as they struggle free from the rigidity of traditions to find love.
\n\n“Boundar y” are borders of clear ly defined linesfor things or entities. It can be specific, such asgeographic borders of political entities; it can alsobe conceptual, such as Form Realm (Rūpadhātu) inBuddhism that divides light and darkness. “Boundary”can be a double-bladed sword that inspires a sense ofidentity; it can also trigger disputes, conflicts and wars.The c onflicts o ver n ational b orders, l and o wnerships,moral barriers, legal jurisdictions, or love and lust canbe as clear as day and night, or vague as the murkycosmos.“Boundar y 2.0” is based on “The Legend of theWhite Snake,” one of the four great love stories inChinese folklore. The piece explores the travels ofthe protagonists across the barrier/border as theystruggle free from the rigidity of traditions to find love,despite the tragic yet beautiful end they knew thatwas inevitable. In 2016, TCO and Ju Percussion Groupventured a cross-arts collaboration, and were blownaway by sparks and enthused fan reception beyondtheir wildest imagination. In 2020, the two groupswill revisit their success and find ways to upend youraudiovisual experience.

\n\nCHO Award winner, Christian Schmitt, one of the most virtuoso and charismatic concert organists of his generation, together with Tatjana Ruhland, once called the “Paganini of the flute” by a critic, OPUS KLASSIK winner, dialoging on the stage. Schmitt delves into theology and the history of the organ and has a particular passion for the great Romantic repertoire. He plays music on historical organs throughout Europe, has given complete recordings of the organ concertos by Handel and Brixi and has recently performed at the Musikverein Wien, Schleswig-Holstein. He is intensively involved with contemporary organ music. He has played the organs at the Philharmonie Berlin and worked with well-known conductors and soloists. Being the solo flutist of the SWR Symphony Orchestra (chief conductor Teodor Currentzis) since 2000, Ruhland has also appeared in recent years at such leading festivals as the Bonn Beethovenfest, the Würzburg Mozart Festival, the Musikfest Stuttgart, the Ansbach Bach Week, the Prague Spring and the Festival de Radio France, the Heidelberg Spring and so on.

\n\nButterfly Lovers, Symphony of Love
\n\nJointly organized by the Evergreen Symphony Orchestra (ESO) and Beijing Red Maple Culture Communication Co., “Butterfly Lovers, Symphony of Love” concert is a supreme instance of Chinese-Western cultural exchange, as it brings into harmony Chinese traditional music and Western symphonic music. Since its cross-strait tour began in 2014, the concert has been attended by over two million people. On May 1, 2020, the concert will perform at Weiwuying Concert Hall for the first time.
\n\nESO Conductor Wen-chen Chuang and renowned Mainland Chinese conductor Fan Tao will take turns commanding the orchestra. The concert featured Mainland Chinese erhu player Li Mei, Mainland Chinese Cellist Jiapeng Nie, Taiwanese soprano Melody Yang, etc.It is a musical feast encompassing the old and the new, Chinese and Western classics.

衛武營國家藝術文化中心目標成為「亞洲劇場自造者的新創基地」,2017年與「PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展」(Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, PQ)簽署四年合作計劃,本計劃共有八個合作夥伴機構,分別來自捷克、英國、挪威、賽普勒斯、烏克蘭、波蘭、拉脫維亞及臺灣,作為臺灣代表的衛武營亦是此計畫唯一的亞洲夥伴。

透過此計畫,開啟亞洲與歐洲間持續的合作契機,包括新銳設計/創作者交流、實習生培訓與展演作品交流計畫等實驗與合作的機會,發展亞洲和歐洲青年劇場自造者(theater-makers)間的交流網絡。

2020年的整個5月,《EUREKA!2.0發現衛武營》以展覽、創意實驗自造所及演出三個子計畫,串起不同國家的夥伴藝術計畫,在衛武營的公共空間中,創造和藝術的不期而遇。

崛起計畫(Emergence)
\n\n由PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展發起的崛起計畫(Emergence),由歐盟「創意歐洲」(Creative Europe)計劃大力支持,是一個為期三年的文化研究交流計畫,由歐洲七個藝術機構與臺灣衛武營共同合作,串連起歐陸與亞洲間創意對話的橋樑。「崛起計畫」的參與者多由設計師、導演、演員,舞者、音樂家、美術和視覺藝術家、數位創作者、策展人、製作人和經理人等組成,這些新銳創作者們根據選定的議題,透過研討會、大師班、藝術家駐地工作坊、現場行為表演 (live art) 和階段性的成果發表展覽,與眾人分享新一代的藝術創作實踐者如何從文化遺產中整理出集體文化記憶,重新翻轉並且為當代生活的人們創造另類的觀賞體驗。

PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展(簡稱PQ)主題囊括劇場設計、表演設計與劇場建築,是全世界規模最大的劇場設計藝術節之一。自1967年首屆PQ設計展以來,主辦單位透過各種交流活動包括展覽、藝術節、工作坊、戲劇演出與研討會,並提供豐富的教學與駐點創作機會,帶領大眾一同探索劇場與表演設計界最傑出的作品。吸引來自全球70個國家與地區的專業人員、學生與社會大眾參與,超過18萬名的觀眾與訪客共襄盛舉。

PQ擁有國際性的表演設計平台以及龐大的年輕設計師與藝術從業人員網絡,2019年的PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展於布拉格工業園區舉行。這座富有歷史文化意義的園區曾是1891年百年工業博覽會時令眾人自豪的會場,也曾是納粹集中營的據點與共產黨政府舉辦各式慶典的場地,在此舉行別具意義。

維多利亞與艾伯特博物館是全世界最重要的藝術與設計資源之一,自1837年開始營運以來,便向大眾開放所有館藏,不僅對訪客而言極具教育意義,也啟發了無數的設計師與製造商。每年約有370萬名訪客親自拜訪此博物館,更有高達1,500萬人次透過網路欣賞館藏。維多利亞與艾伯特博物館收藏的文化遺產數量位居全球首位,但館方也不忘時時審視自身文化帝國主義的背景,並積極為當代社會中的非主流聲音提供一個發光發熱的舞台。

除了分享世界級的展覽平台與觀眾之外,該博物館也致力於提供各式表演空間供現場展演活動舉行,期望未來能夠更進一步促進藝術文化交流。面臨英國脫歐的衝擊,館方將持續尋求跨文化交流機會,結合新舊藝術家之力,搭建並維護一座串連歐洲的新橋梁。此外,維多利亞與艾伯特博物館與中央聖馬丁藝術與設計學院、羅斯布魯弗表演藝術學院皆已有長久的合作關係,持續為新銳創作者及學生創造展現自我的機會。

IZOLYATSIA是一個非營利的跨域文化倡議平台,主要任務為力促社會文化改革。因成立於戰爭紛擾頻仍的頓內次克地區,IZOLYATSIA舉辦的展覽活動將人們對戰爭衝突的反應化作藝術與表演,可說是文化催化正向改變的最佳實例。

IZOLYATSIA的展演深受當地的歷史文化因素啟發,不但為觀眾帶來嶄新的藝術體驗,同時也將衝突現況資訊呈現在眾人眼前。策展人以自身的專業提供當地藝術家展演的機會、空間與時間,並讓對方盡情創作能促進包容、理解與尊重文化差異的作品。

\n\t\t\t | \n\t\t\t 波蘭|茲比格紐拉斯佐斯基戲劇研究院 | \n\t\t
茲比格紐拉斯佐斯基戲劇研究院專責紀錄、宣傳與振興波蘭境內的劇場生活,並鼓勵戲劇相關的教學研究計畫,也兼營出版事務。其收藏的劇場文獻規模為波蘭之首,同時經營了一座圖書館、PROSPERO專門書店與一間推出公開呈現的排練空間。此外,茲比格紐拉斯佐斯基戲劇研究院也負責管理維護波蘭劇場入口網站與波蘭劇場網路百科。

該研究院透過各種計畫與競賽以促進戲劇教育活動、輔導波蘭當代藝術及古典文學劇作的演出和宣導「公共劇院」的理念,並竭力發展戲劇與其他領域之間的交流與互動,如攝影、舞台劇編舞、廣播劇,以及相關視覺藝術與新媒體藝術等等。

THOC賽普勒斯劇院組織是政府所設立的單位,致力於提倡劇場藝術、培植國民戲劇涵養,並維護賽普勒斯、希臘與鄰近國家劇場圈之間的藝術關係。該組織於賽普勒斯國內外輔導源自希臘、賽普勒斯與世界各地的古典與當代戲劇創作,同時也投入戲劇從業人員的培育與訓練,並積極安排泛賽普勒斯、泛希臘與世界各地的戲劇角色於島上的古劇場及其他戶外空間演出。任職於THOC的專家,同時也是賽普勒斯教育文化部在劇場領域的顧問。

雖然賽普勒斯的居民擁有共同的文化背景,但島上卻充滿了顯見或潛在的衝突與分化。在此氛圍下,THOC為戲劇創作者提供了獨特的創作機會,讓人們從彼此的歧見中相互學習,並建立新的友誼。藉由組織化的領導,THOC期望能將表演實踐帶到距離其總部僅有一箭之遙的「綠線」(Green Line),也就是已有半個世紀歷史的賽普勒斯聯合國緩衝區。

挪威戲劇學院受到挪威境內乃至全世界的認可,在推行國際表演藝術計畫方面的經驗尤其豐富,每每吸引世界各地的表演藝術家與學生蜂擁而至。

為響應Emergence崛起計畫,挪威戲劇學院提供了既有的表演平台,在霍雅島上以新開發的方法學回應挪威神話。該學院透過工作坊,與Emergence夥伴賽普勒斯及拉脫維亞的學生分享其研究成果及專業知識。

拉脫維亞新戲劇學院是「當代劇場國際藝術節」的主辦單位。「當代劇場國際藝術節」是拉脫維亞境內表演藝術類節慶的領導者,也是波羅的海地區規模最大的藝術節。此藝術節於首都里加舉行,旨在帶領觀眾一窺著名藝術家及新銳創作者的世界觀與社會思維,並精心策劃各種演出、研討會與工作坊等活動。自1995年創立以來已舉辦過11屆,包含逾百場的客座演出,也製作過不少的新劇作品。

拉脫維亞新戲劇學院在2019年PQ中分享為特殊場地策辦演出與發展觀眾等經驗。受到拉脫維亞當代劇場國際藝術節的洗禮,當地的藝術家能夠充實自身的知識與經驗,並厚植為特定展演空間設計專屬演出的實力。正因如此,許多未曾開發的場館後來都因此受到挖掘而躍升為公眾自主的展演空間,進而成為當地的文化藝術中心。多年來,該藝術節不斷努力推廣城市與場館合作、空間劇場構作與特定場域創作,並強調劇場設計是一種自主且創新的藝術型態。

\n從衛武營「亞洲劇場自造者(theater-makers)的新創基地」角色出發,2017年開始與PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展合作的目標為:發展並建立亞洲和歐洲青年劇場自造者之網絡,提供亞洲青年劇場設計師們交流、合作與共製的機會,共同建立國際合作新景象。2018年5月邀集亞洲青年劇場自造者,以衛武營為基地,探索空間與敘事的角度翻轉及各種可能性。2020年將延續EUREKA精神,舉辦為期6天的創意實驗自造所,由劇場自造者在衛武營室內、戶外等公共場域作為試驗場,彼此激盪想法、創意,並動手實作,期許亞洲青年設計創作者們能以衛武營為實驗培養皿撞擊出火花和交流合作的契機。

當前國際盛行以城市公共空間為表演區域的創作趨勢,比以介入都市空間的布魯塞爾SIGNAL藝術節是最佳例子。第一屆花蓮城市空間藝術節由衛武營戲劇顧問耿一偉與世界溜溜球冠軍聯合擔任策展人,將以市區的溝仔尾為基地,前一天為夜晚封街活動,將空間還給市民,透過街頭藝術與戶外裝置,創造市民有感的節慶之夜。第二天則會擴散到花蓮市區,以沉浸式劇場、因地制宜舞蹈、行為藝術、互動裝置等各種公共空間藝術計畫,創造對城市的想像。

受到臺灣政治現象啟發,2019年6月衛武營EUREKA創作群所集體創作的 Lift Me Up ,靈感來自政治候選人宣告投身參與競選是因為神明託夢,試圖從藝術創作探討個體、群體與社會間宗教信仰與民主制度間的複雜關係。

2019年於PQ布拉格劇場設計四年展首演的 Lift Me Up,於2020年回到臺灣衛武營發展2.0版本《抬轎》,深化在地脈絡與社會關切之時事議題,將經歷國際藝術節洗禮的作品再現於孕育素材的臺灣。

「民主制度」與「神的意旨」乍看是兩個平行領域。如果政治候選人宣布參選僅是因為「神的託夢」時,選民支持投下的票是挺誰?而我們遵從的又是誰的意旨?
\n\nEUREKA創作群從舞蹈「接觸即興」中強調沒有特定人引導、相互即時觸發的「中空身體」概念,連結到媽祖遶境時,一群扛轎人受「神靈指引」而移動轎子、展現神性的狀態相當雷同。當沒有特定的領導者時,移動的轎子是否就是神性的顯現?「神」在哪裡?而當神的意旨經過不同媒介轉化、體現在移動的轎子上時,神的意旨會不會是眾人的無意識地共謀?而「神」其實是人民共同意志的代名詞?

A central goal of the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) is to become the innovation hub for theater-makers in Asia. In 2017, a four-year collaborative project agreement was signed with the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ). The project is a collaboration between eight partners in Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Norway, Cyprus, Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, and Taiwan. Weiwuying, as the representative of Taiwan, was also the only Asian partner in this collaborative project.

Over the course of the project, Weiwuying has opened up new opportunities for long-term collaboration between Asia and Europe—including exchanges among emerging designers/creators, internship, and exhibition exchanges—and fostered the development of a network of young theater-makers from Asia and Europe.

\nIn May 2020, through the exhibition, creative and experimental lab, and performances of EUREKA! 2.0 Rediscovering Weiwuying, this collaborative arrangement generates partner art projects from multiple countries that bring a chance encounter with art in the public space in Weiwuying.

The EUREKA! 2.0: Rediscovering Weiwuying Exhibition is focused on the three indispensable core values of space, people, and theater-makers. As a design medium for a better life, Weiwuying has created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for creative design exchanges, experimenting, and matchmaking. By bringing audience, performers, creative designers, and venue operators together in its unique architectural space, Weiwuying has set this group of people on an experimental adventure that begins within the building of the art center and extends to the Weiwuying Metropolitan Park outside, opening their imaginations to the idea that “life is theater.”

Emergence
\n\nInititated by PQ, the Emergence project is a three-year cultural research and exchange project in the frame of the Creative Europe program. This collaboration project consists of effort between Taiwan’s Weiwuying and seven other European art institutions, and has sparked a creative conversation between Europe and Asia. The primary participants in the Emergence project are designers, directors, actors, dancers, musicians, visual artists, digital creators, curators, producers, and managers. Through seminars, masterclasses, artist-in-residence workshops, live art performances, and exhibitions, these emerging creators share with the world how a new generation of art practitioners are able to extract collective cultural memories from our cultural heritage, transform them, and create alternative viewing experiences for the people of today.

Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is the largest international exhibition and festival event dedicated to scenography, performance design and architecture. As one of the world’s largest collections of cultural heritage, the V&A actively question its own imperialist heritage while offering platforms to elevate unheard voices in contemporary society.

\n\nV&A shares their worldwide art platform, shares their audiences and opens the variety of spaces to performative activities and live exhibition approaches, V&A is interested in pursuing more in the future. In the face of Brexit, the V&A continues to explore cross-cultural exchange while developing new and maintaining existing artist bridges with Europe. In addition, the V&A has a standing relationship with Central Saint Martin and Rose Bruford College to create opportunities for emerging performance creators and students.

A non-profit platform for multidisciplinary cultural initiatives with the main mission to support cultural and social change. This organization was established in Donetsk region, and has been affected by the fighting there. Their work is an example of culture being a catalyst of positive change as they seek to react to an active conflict zone through art and performance.

IZOLYATSIA brings new experience and current information about conflict situations where culture and heritage plays an important role. They share their expertise and experts as well as provide, opportunity, space and time for artists to create work that contributes to diminishing intolerance, and embraces cultural differences and diversity.

The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute deals with documentation, promotion, and animation of Polish theatrical life. It supports educational projects, research, and acts as a publisher. The Institute manages the largest archive of theatre-related documents in Poland, maintains a library, houses a specialist bookshop PROSPERO, and runs a theatre studio where presentations are open to the public. The Institute manages a portal devoted to Polish theatre and the site “Encyclopedia of the Polish theatre”.

New Theatre Institute of Latvia is the organizer of the International Festival of Contemporary Theatre Homo Novus, which is the leading performing arts festival in Latvia and one of the biggest in the Baltic region. It takes place in Riga and introduces audiences to both new and renowned artists that seek ways of expressing their views and opinions about the world and the society. Festival offers a range of performances as well as seminars, workshops and other activities. Since 1995 there have been 11 festivals, showing more than 100 different guest performances and producing several new works.

New Theatre Institute of Latvia shared their expertise in organizing site specific performances and audience development in PQ 2019. Thanks to Homo Novus festival theatre artists in Latvia have expanded their knowledge and practice and mastered their capacities in developing site-specific work. Festival has discovered and entered several sites and venues that later on have become autonomous public centers and continue to function as places for culture and the arts. Collaboration with the city and its sites, dramaturgy of the space, site-specific approach and focus on scenography as autonomous and innovative artistic practice have been among the interests of the festival for many years.

\nNational Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) works towards creating a creative hub for theater-makers in Asia. Weiwuying and Prague Quadrennial (PQ) have joined forces to create opportunities for early-career theater-makers to develop and establish a network for international theater-makers between Asia and Europe, to provide a horizon for dialogue and collaborations.

In 2020, the Creative and Experimental Lab of EUREKA!2.0 Project at Weiwuying is our experiment with all makers, to explore new possibilities and revisit existing ideas. The six-day workshop allows theater-makers to experiment their ideas with or without concrete outcomes, make new connections and take the one-year old Weiwuying as lab grounds to break out and try wildly or mildly different.

Hualien is a beautiful city. With the green mountain, blue sky, spark sunshine, and grand ocean, we can define it is the most livable city in Taiwan. The first edition of Hualien Performing Space Festival is curated by Yi-Wei Keng and Yuan-Ching Yang. It invites the performative arts projects in public space including theatre, dance, music, circus, street performance, installation and live arts. There will be a two-day event. The first day will focus on the street performance, the second day will dedicate to the projects of urban engagement.

Inspired by a Taiwanese political event in which a presidential candidate attributed his running for office to divine revelation, the artists of Weiwuying’s EUREKA Project created the Lift Me Up. The live exhibition is an attempt to understand the complex relationship between religion and democracy among individuals, groups, and in society itself through artistic creation and dialog.

In May 2020, Lift Me Up at Weiwuying will be unveiled as a reimagining of the original live exhibition first presented at the Prague Quadrennial in 2019. After its premiere in the Prague Quadrennial, the performance, which has been revamped to incorporate the local cultural context and social issues, is ready to meet the people in Taiwan.

The central government and local institutions are working together to keep the arts rolling amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The two major cultural institutions of Kaohsiung City, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) and Kaohsiung City Government Bureau of Cultural Affairs, are actively making plans for the performing arts on top of various preventive measures.
